Pet-Friendly Wollongong: Holidaying With Your Dog
Our house welcomes pets, and so does much of the Illawarra. Tips for walks, cafes and beaches with your four-legged friend.
Bring the whole family
Gemstays is pet friendly, so your dog doesn't need to miss out. Up to two pets are welcome in the lower area of the house for a $70 fee — please mention them when you enquire so we can put down lounge protectors and have bowls ready. The property isn't fenced, so dogs need an eye on them in the garden, but there are plenty of nearby off-leash spots for them to stretch their legs.
Walks & beaches
Wollongong has a number of designated dog off-leash areas, including some beach sections. Rules and times change, so always check Wollongong City Council signage before letting your dog off-leash.
Cafes
Plenty of cafes along the coast welcome dogs at outdoor tables. Ask us for our favourites when you check in.
